Joshua 1:9 NKJV

Swift to hear

So then, my beloved brethren,
let every man be swift to hear,
slow to speak, slow to wrath;

for the wrath of man
does not produce
the righteousness of God.

Therefore lay aside
all filthiness and
overflow of wickedness,
and receive with meekness
the implanted word,
which is able to
save your souls.

Be kind*

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31, 32 NKJV)

Need to remember this - just be kind.
It's the opposite of bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil speaking. If you are kind you wouldn't do any of those things.

Just be kind.

The light of life*

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12 NKJV)

Be angry*

'“Be angry, and do not sin” :
do not let the sun
go down on your wrath,'

(Ephesians 4:26 NKJV)

This is the verse that has got me by all these years. It's the reason I can always sleep. It's the reason why I'm never angry for long. The reason why I can just let things go.

But it seems on recent months, I've forgotten this verse. The verse that tells me it's ok to be angry, it's normal just don't sin and let it go quickly.

It's been hard to let things go. I've been hard on myself, not letting myself be angry, feeling guilty for being angry. But it's ok it's normal - got to acknowledge that and then you can let it go.

Just let it go it's not important.

I don't want to grow up or fat!

Perverseness breaks a tree of life*

'A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit. '

(Proverbs 15:4 NKJV)

Perverseness: deliberate and stubborn unruliness and resistance to guidance or discipline.

It's stubbornness in your heart that brings out the harsh words, stubbornness to listen and stubbornness to back down and just let it go...

Soft answer vs harsh word*

'A soft answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger.'

(Proverbs 15:1 NKJV)

- your words and behaviour can mend things or make things worse. You have the power to change things.

As much as depends on you*

'If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves,
but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.'

(Romans 12:18, 19 NKJV)

- whether it is possible to live peacefully or not with others depends a lot on you- don't always blame others. Others may not like you but you treat each with respect and well. You do your part first if they choose to treat you bad then that's them and it doesn't matter.

It only causes harm*

Started a reading plan on anger: it's hard to know what to do when you're angry and frustrated. Lesson 1: dnt even fret it only causes harm, not a moan, not a groan.

'Cease from anger,
and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—
it only causes harm.'

(Psalms 37:8 NKJV)

Who do you say that I am?

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

The mountain of The Lord

Now it shall come to pass
